South Korea’s top instant noodle maker Nongshim Co. announced on Tuesday that it has signed a distribution agreement for its flagship Shin Ramyun brand with Blinkit, the top player in India’s quick-commerce market.
Under the agreement, Nongshim will exclusively launch the Shin Ramyun Kimchi Stir-Fried Noodles brand on Blinkit.
The company explained that the launch is designed to target India’s food culture, where stir-fried noodles are popular, as well as younger local consumers who are familiar with quick commerce services.
Nongshim plans to supply its products to major regions, including New Delhi and Mumbai, by leveraging Blinkit’s delivery network, which commands about 50 percent of India’s quick commerce market.
India’s quick commerce market is expected to grow more than sixfold from $8 billion last year to $50 billion by 2030.
Nongshim, which currently generates about 40 percent of its total sales from overseas, plans to increase the share to more than 60 percent by 2030.
The company also plans to strengthen its product rollouts and marketing centered on the Shin Ramyun brand.
According to Nongshim, total sales of the Shin Ramyun brand last year reached 1.54 trillion won ($1.02 billion), of which overseas sales accounted for 1.015 trillion won, representing 66 percent of the total.
