Nexen Tire said on April 27 that it will supply original equipment (OE) tires for vehicles in the North American launch of the SUV “2026 Cherokee” from Jeep, a brand under global automaker Stellantis.
The Jeep Cherokee is the brand’s first vehicle equipped with a full hybrid system and offers fuel efficiency that allows it to travel more than 500 miles, or about 800 kilometers, on a single tank.
The ROADIAN GTX to be supplied this time is a tire designed exclusively for SUVs and CUVs. It delivers strong braking, snow performance, and wear performance, while also providing a balanced level of quietness and ride comfort. The tire uses a compound that maintains stable performance despite temperature changes, allowing it to deliver reliable braking not only in summer heat but also in low winter temperatures.
It also adopts an optimized zigzag-type pattern design to disperse pressure from the road surface and minimize momentary pulling, providing more stable driving. With enhanced mileage performance, it is expected to offer a longer replacement cycle, meeting both the stability and efficiency required for hybrid SUVs.
Nexen Tire has expanded cooperation with the Stellantis group, including Jeep, based on continuous research and development and quality competitiveness. In particular, it has supplied original equipment tires for key models including the Jeep Wrangler.
A Nexen Tire official said, “The supply of original equipment tires for the Jeep brand’s first hybrid SUV in the North American market is an achievement that once again proves our competitiveness in the future mobility market.”
