LX Pantos, a comprehensive logistics company, announced on May 20 that it has joined the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and declared its official support.
WEPs is a global initiative jointly launched in 2010 by the UN Global Compact (UNGC) and UN Women. It aims to advance gender equality and women’s human rights, and currently more than 12,000 companies worldwide participate in sharing practical approaches to empowering women.
With this membership, LX Pantos will incorporate the seven principles outlined by WEPs across its overall management operations. Key areas include building high-level leadership for gender equality, eliminating discrimination against women in the workplace and providing equal opportunities, ensuring health, safety, and well-being for all workers, and strengthening women’s workforce development and training.
Women’s empowerment will also be prioritized in corporate development, supply chain management, and the formulation of marketing strategies. The company plans to collaborate with local communities to promote gender equality policies, while transparently measuring and disclosing relevant outcomes to enhance external credibility.
This move is an extension of the sustainable management efforts LX Pantos has pursued. The company joined the UNGC in 2023 and has since been building an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management framework aligned with global standards.
Lee Yong-ho, CEO of LX Pantos, added, “A healthy organizational culture built on diversity and inclusion is an important foundation for strengthening corporate competitiveness,” and stated that the company plans to “continue pursuing sustainable growth on the basis of mutual respect and trust among its members.”
