LG CNS is accelerating its push into the North American manufacturing digital transformation (AX) market, leading with its artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart factory solutions.
LG CNS announced on May 20 that it was the only Korean company to participate in the ‘IoT Tech Expo 2026,’ held over two days starting on May 18 in San Jose, United States. The event brought together a large number of global IT companies, including IBM and SAP, and LG CNS unveiled the core solutions of its integrated smart factory brand, ‘Factova.’
At the expo, LG CNS focused on presenting Factova’s operational expertise in optimizing overall manufacturing processes. In particular, ‘Factova MES,’ which is designed for easy adoption not only by large factories but also by small, medium, and mid-sized manufacturers, drew considerable attention from visitors. The solution uses AI to analyze on-site data in real time to eliminate inefficiencies, and its modular design allows users to select only the functions they need, making phased expansion straightforward.
‘Factova Control,’ which provides integrated management of production equipment data, was also among the key exhibits. The solution standardizes and centrally controls equipment data from different manufacturers and detects signs of failure in advance through an AI-based predictive maintenance function. According to the company, it has been deployed across more than 100,000 pieces of equipment at home and abroad, demonstrating its reliability in ensuring production stability.
Specialized solutions for industries requiring high levels of precision, such as semiconductors and aerospace, were also unveiled. By leveraging fault detection and classification (FDC) and statistical process control (SPC) systems, manufacturers can predict process defects based on data and maximize production yield.
A ‘Generative AI Safety Environment’ service for workplace safety was also demonstrated. Workers can photograph an accident scene and leave a voice memo, which AI then analyzes to automatically register in the system and provide a response guide. A domestic battery factory that adopted Factova raised its proportion of acceptable products to over 90% within just one month, while an electronics manufacturing plant achieved a productivity improvement of approximately 20%.
Shin Jae-hoon, Executive Vice President and Head of the Smart Factory Business Division at LG CNS, said, “We plan to accelerate our full-scale push into the North American market, backed by the AX technologies we have accumulated at large-scale sites,” and added, “We will actively support manufacturers of all sizes in realizing AI-based factory intelligence.”
