GE HealthCare Korea, ACK partner on real-time patient monitoring platform

GE HealthCare Korea and ACK said they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at ACK headquarters last Thursday to collaborate on developing a real-time patient monitoring solution based on an electronic medical record (EMR) interface.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both companies, including ACK CEO Cho Seon-joo, Executive Director Hwang Tae-ho, Director Kim Yoon-ho, GE HealthCare Korea CEO Kim Yong-duk, and Lee Heung-ki, head of the Patient Care Solutions business division.

Under the MOU, the two companies plan to combine GE HealthCare’s leadership in medical technology and digital healthcare with ACK’s expertise in EMR interfaces to develop a program that can monitor patient data in real time.

The collaboration aims to provide healthcare institutions with a digital healthcare environment that integrates and connects data generated from various medical devices for real-time monitoring. Through the system, physicians and nurses are expected to identify and respond more quickly to signs of patient deterioration.

Founded in 1999, ACK specializes in medical IT solutions, including LIS applications, medical equipment interface development, and laboratory medicine consulting. The company has established LIS systems for major tertiary hospitals, specialized health screening centers, and medical foundations across Korea, and has also developed and supplied medical equipment interfaces to more than 350 hospitals nationwide.

Since 2004, ACK has expanded its business into the EMR interface sector, building expertise in healthcare data integration and medical informatization.

“Based on our long-standing experience in EMR interfaces and medical IT infrastructure, ACK has built data integration environments for various healthcare institutions,” ACK CEO Cho Seon-joo said. “Through this collaboration, we will actively cooperate in developing solutions that create synergy with GE HealthCare’s global medical technology and digital healthcare leadership, while enhancing operational efficiency and clinical usability for healthcare providers.”

GE HealthCare Korea CEO Kim Yong-duk said the partnership represents a meaningful collaboration aimed at creating a more advanced healthcare environment by combining the technological capabilities of a Korean medical IT company with GE HealthCare’s global expertise in medical technology and digital healthcare.

“We expect that cooperation with ACK will improve connectivity and usability of medical data, ultimately helping provide better healthcare services for both medical professionals and patients,” Kim said.
