Bhc chicken, one of Korea's biggest fried chicken franchises, opened its first Georgia location Tuesday, marking the company's latest expansion as it seeks a firmer foothold in the U.S. market.

The restaurant, situated in a mixed-use development in Gwinnett County, is the brand’s seventh U.S. location since it first arrived in the country in 2023. Operated by Dining Brands Group, the 80-seat outpost reflects a strategic move into the southeastern part of the U.S., a region where the company hopes to capitalize on rapid residential growth and a broadening appetite for Korean flavors.

The new restaurant, called the Exchange at Gwinnett location, is located in the second-most populous county in Georgia.

The company said the area is undergoing residential development, which it expects will drive additional customer traffic.

The roughly 258-square-meter location offers full-table dining service — a format that bhc said is designed to accommodate families, couples and groups looking for a relaxed dining experience.

The menu centers on bhc's signature Bburinkle cheese-seasoned fried chicken, which the company said ranks first in U.S. sales among its offerings.

The location also serves wings and tenders, as well as half- and whole-bird options. Additional menu items include kimchi fried rice, instant noodles, fish cake soup and cheese fire chicken, catering to both the local Korean community and American consumers with an interest in Korean food.

"The seventh location is especially meaningful as bhc's first store in Georgia," said Brian Shin, head of bhc's U.S. operations.

"We plan to deliver a differentiated K-chicken experience through a menu lineup and store operations that reflect the diverse dining preferences of local customers."

Bhc currently operates 44 locations across eight countries, including the United States, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Canada. The company entered the U.S. market in 2023.
