한국농어촌공사 파주지사가 본격적인 농번기를 앞두고 일손 부족 문제를 겪는 지역 농가를 돕기 위한 현장 지원에 나섰다.

파주지사는 지난 23일 파주시 적성면 율포리 일대 농가를 찾아 인력 지원 봉사활동을 진행하며 농촌 현장의 어려움을 함께 나눴다.
이번 활동은 고령화와 인구 감소로 농업 인력 확보에 어려움을 겪고 있는 농가를 지원하고, 지역사회와 상생하는 공공기관의 역할을 강화하기 위한 취지에서 마련됐다.
이날 봉사에는 지사장을 포함한 직원 20여 명이 참여해 모내기 준비 작업을 도왔으며, 모판 운반과 농지 주변 정리 등 농번기를 앞둔 시기에 필요한 다양한 작업을 수행했으며 참여 직원들은 현장에서 직접 농작업을 지원하며 농가의 부담을 덜어주는 데 힘을 보탰다.
전홍성 지사장은 “농업 환경이 갈수록 어려워지는 상황에서 현장에 작은 힘이라도 보태고자 이번 활동을 추진하게 됐다”고 말했으며 이어 “앞으로도 지역 농업과 함께 호흡하며 실질적인 도움이 되는 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
