【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=제27회 증평인삼배 전국장사씨름대회가 7일간의 대장정을 마치고 성공적으로 막을 내렸다.
지난 17일부터 23일까지 증평종합스포츠센터에서 열린 이번 대회는 (사)대한씨름협회가 주최하고 증평군체육회와 증평군씨름협회 주관, 증평군이 후원해 전국 각지에서 1200여 명의 선수들이 참가해 기량을 겨뤘다.
특히 이번 대회는 TV와 유튜브를 통해 전국에 생중계되며 ‘인삼과 씨름의 고장’ 증평의 위상을 다시 한번 각인시켰다.
대회 기간 선수단뿐 아니라 임원과 가족 등 많은 방문객이 증평군을 찾으면서 지역 상권도 활기를 띠었다.
숙박업소와 음식점 이용이 크게 늘어나며 체육행사가 지역경제에 실질적인 파급효과를 가져왔다는 평가다.
