이번 교육은 수질 오염도 검사와 관리 업무의 기본이 되는 시료 채취 및 보존 방법에 대한 이해를 넓히고, 담당 공무원들의 현장 실무 능력을 한층 향상하는 데 초점을 맞춰 진행됐다.
특히 환경시험 결과의 신뢰성을 한층 높이기 위해 시험 항목별 적정 시료 채취와 보존 방법을 집중 조명했다. 이와 함께 △최근 개정된 관련 법령 안내 △수질오염사고 발생 시 단계별 대응 절차 △현장 수질측정기 올바른 사용법 등 실제 현장에서 바로 적용할 수 있는 실무 중심 내용으로 구성해 교육생들의 호응을 얻었다.
전남보건환경연구원 관계자는 “수질 관리 업무는 정확한 시료 채취에서부터 시작하는 만큼, 담당 공무원의 역량이 전체 환경 행정의 신뢰도와 직결된다”며 “앞으로도 현장 중심의 교육을 지속해 깨끗하고 안전한 수질 환경을 조성하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
