Jeonnam Bio-Industry Promotion Agency to Host ‘Advanced Bio Technology Development Seminar’ in Hwasun on the 27th

Expanding Industry-Academic-Research-Hospital-Government Cooperation Network within Vaccine Special Zone - Sharing Latest Trends and Strategies in Advanced Biotechnology, Including Organoids, K-VCAST, and PCMO

(Naju = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Biopharmaceutical Division of the Jeonnam Bio-Industry Promotion Agency announced that it will host the ‘Advanced Bio Technology Development Seminar,’ organized by the Hwasun Life Society Forum, at the main auditorium of the Education Building of the Vaccine Safety Technology Support Center on May 27.

This seminar was organized to share the latest technology development trends and research achievements in the advanced bio industry based on the ‘Hwasun Vaccine Industry Special Zone,’ the only vaccine and bio special zone in Korea, and to expand the cooperation network among industry, academia, research, hospitals, and government institutions within the zone. A large number of officials from research institutes, companies, hospitals, universities, and local governments within the Vaccine Special Zone are expected to attend the event.

The seminar will feature a total of three presentations focusing on key issues and technology strategies in the field of advanced biotechnology.

Oh Won-jun, a senior researcher at the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR), will be the first speaker. Under the theme "KTR Strategy for Building AI and Animal Replacement/Organoid Infrastructure," he will introduce the direction for establishing an advanced research platform based on animal replacement testing and organoids.

Following this, Park Min-jeong, a team leader at the Vaccine Safety Technology Support Center, will present the support system for the commercialization of vaccines and biopharmaceuticals, as well as technical support strategies, under the theme "The Role of K-VCAST in Supporting Advanced Bio Businesses at the Hwasun Bio-Specialized Complex."

Finally, Song Jin-young, a team leader at the Microbial Demonstration Support Center, will present directions for supporting vaccine and biopharmaceutical production and establishing an integrated platform based on the special zone under the theme "Hwasun Vaccine Special Zone and PCMO: The Future of a One-Stop Integrated Platform."

Currently, the Hwasun Vaccine Industry Special Zone is building a bio cluster that supports the entire cycle, from research and development (R&D) to non-clinical trials (GLP), clinical trials (GCP), production (GMP), and regulatory approval. Key institutions, including the Microbial Demonstration Support Center, the Vaccine Safety Technology Support Center, the KTR Healthcare Research Institute, and Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital, are working together organically under the leadership of the Biopharmaceutical Division of the Jeonnam Bio Promotion Agency to foster an advanced bio-industry ecosystem.
