다만, 도교육청은 조사 과정에서 당시 청구된 교육감 항공요금 1,033만 5,100원이 실제 요금인 817만 5,470원보다 215만 9,630원 더 많게 집행된 사실을 확인하고, 해당 차액을 전액 환수 조치했다고 밝혔다.
확인 결과, 발생한 차액은 현지 차량 이용료, 통역비, 가이드 비용 등 현지 경비로 사용된 것으로 나타났다.
