KBS Symphony Orchestra String and Brass Ensemble to Present Diverse Classical Melodies

Anyone Can Freely Watch the Performance at the Citizen Hall on the 1st Floor of the Gwangju Government Complex During Lunchtime

(Break News Jeonnam-Gwangju) Reporter Lee Hak-su = A meaningful concert will be held to celebrate the historic launch of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City and to promote harmony within the local community.

The Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City announced that it will hold the "Traveling Concert," a commemorative performance celebrating the launch of the integrated city, at 12:10 PM on the 16th at the Citizen Hall on the 1st floor of the Gwangju Government Complex.

Organized by the Yeosu Music Festival Foundation and the KBS Symphony Orchestra, this performance was prepared to celebrate the start of the new integrated city together with citizens and to deliver a message of harmony and hope through culture and arts. In particular, the event was planned to allow citizens to familiarize themselves with classical music in their daily lives by utilizing their lunch breaks, and anyone can attend freely without prior reservation.

As this concert commemorates the historic milestone of the integration of Jeonnam and Gwangju, it is expected to become a warm venue for communication where culture and arts deeply resonate with the local community through high-quality classical performances, thereby strengthening the bonds of the new community.

The performance will be hosted by Jung Eun-ah, an announcer at KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Station, and will feature a diverse program with the string quartet and brass quintet of the KBS Symphony Orchestra, one of the nation's premier orchestras. The program consists of familiar pieces that can be enjoyed by all generations, ranging from classic masterpieces to film scores and pop songs. First, the string quartet will present delicate and warm melodies, including Mozart’s *Eine Kleine Nachtmusik* and Dvořák’s *Humoresque*, as well as the OST *Gabriel’s Oboe* from the movie *The Mission*, and *Kazabue*, *Variations on Happy Birthday*, and *Besame Mucho* from the movie *Welcome to Dongmakgol*.

Following this, the brass quintet will take the stage, starting with a powerful opening from the opera *Carmen*. They will then perform a Disney medley, the pop song *Yellow Ribbon*, Frank Sinatra’s *New York, New York*, and John Legend’s *All of Me*, presenting a lively and magnificent performance. Furthermore, with the addition of collaborations by the oboe and bassoon, the concert promises to offer a rich performance where the charms of various instruments can be experienced in one place. The "Traveling Concert" is a representative cultural and artistic program that the Yeosu Music Festival Foundation has continuously promoted. Its purpose is to enhance cultural accessibility and expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment throughout the region by overcoming the high threshold of traditional concert halls and visiting citizens' everyday spaces to present music.

Meanwhile, the Yeosu Music Festival, a representative cultural and artistic festival of Yeosu, is leading the popularization of classical music in partnership with the KBS Symphony Orchestra. Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the festival is scheduled to be held from August 29 to September 5 at Yeosu Yeulmaru and other venues.
