Jeungpyeong County Governor Lee Jae-young Conducts Resident-Focused, On-the-Ground Administration by Visiting 104 Senior Centers
Jeungpyeong County is significantly strengthening its field-oriented communication administration by visiting local senior centers to directly listen to residents' opinions and resolve daily inconveniences.
Over the course of approximately 50 days starting from the 10th of last month, Jeungpyeong County visited 104 local senior centers to engage in communication with residents. This field visit was organized to actively reflect the vivid voices from the field—ranging from inconveniences closely related to residents' daily lives to major local issues—in county administration.
A total of 106 resident suggestions were received during the tour. These included daily-related complaints such as the maintenance of village exercise equipment, replacement of automatic doors at senior centers, and renovation of vacant houses, as well as various proposals for regional development, such as comprehensive flood and storm damage improvement projects for residential areas.
In particular, the county government took immediate action to verify the facts regarding issues that had caused anxiety among residents. Regarding concerns raised during a visit to Chojung 9-ri in Jeungpyeong-eup concerning the expansion of a waste incineration facility located in Buk-myeon, Cheongju, the county promptly held consultations with Cheongju City. It was then conveyed to residents that there are currently no plans to obtain permits or licenses for the incinerator expansion.
Jeungpyeong County has swiftly completed the processing of 21 of the submitted suggestions, while 29 are currently being pursued or are scheduled for implementation. Consultations are underway for 37 cases requiring mid-to-long-term review or consultation with relevant agencies, and for the 19 cases where implementation is difficult due to legal regulations, the county is continuing to manage them by explaining the detailed reasons.
An official from Jeungpyeong County emphasized that they will personally visit wherever residents' voices are heard to find solutions on-site. They further stated that they will not give up on matters ranging from minor daily complaints to major pending issues that are difficult to resolve immediately, but will see them through to the end to create tangible changes for the residents.
