Ulsan College has established a cooperative framework with Global Village School to foster the stable growth of multicultural youth and cultivate talent in the field of K-culture.

Ulsan College announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Global Village School on the morning of July 31 at the Faculty Meeting Room of the Administrative Building on the East Campus to operate education and cultural programs for multicultural youth.

Global Village School is a private alternative school located in Guro-gu, Seoul, catering to multicultural and immigrant youth. It operates an integrated elementary, middle, and high school curriculum with official accreditation from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.

The signing ceremony was attended by Ulsan College President Cho Hong-rae, Head of the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation Song Kyung-young, Director of the International Exchange Center Lee Yeon-ju, Special Professor Lee Sang-hyun of the Video Content Production Center, and Team Leader of the International Exchange Center Operations Team Lee Chang-hoon. From Global Village School, Chairman Kim Hae-sung, Principal Oh Young-ran, Board Members Seo Hyun-jun and Choi Bu-heon, and poet Kang Min-sook were present. Through this agreement, the two institutions have decided to jointly plan and operate educational and cultural programs for multicultural youth based on their educational infrastructure and capabilities, and to establish a sustainable cooperative system.

Key areas of cooperation include: joint operation of K-Culture (music, performance, and media) educational programs for multicultural youth; joint implementation of experiential and residential programs, such as educational camps during school breaks; mutual utilization of educational and dormitory facilities and equipment; support for career exploration and advancement to higher education; and joint development of educational content and textbooks.

In accordance with the agreement, the two institutions will host a K-Culture Camp for multicultural and local youth at the Ulsan College of Science West Campus from August 10 to 14.

Approximately 35 participants, including students and assistant instructors from Ulsan College of Science, Global Village School, and Howon University, will attend the camp. The program is scheduled to feature a K-Culture Convergence Class focused on vocal and dance training, a Musical Convergence Class providing acting and musical singing education, and a Media Creator Class teaching broadcast filming and video production. On the final day, the 14th, a performance will also be held to showcase the participants' achievements.

Auditions to select camp participants were held on July 24 at Apex Academy of Applied Music in Ulsan. Following free expression evaluations in vocal, dance, and acting categories, 10 youths from the Ulsan region were finally selected.

Ulsan College previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Howon University and Global Village School in March to foster global talent and cooperate in the fields of K-culture and sports. Through this latest agreement, the college plans to expand its support programs for multicultural youth.

Lee Yeon-ju, Director of the International Exchange Center at Ulsan College, stated, "This agreement has further broadened the scope of educational cooperation for multicultural youth." She added, "Starting with the K-Culture Camp in August, we will provide continuous support to help youth demonstrate their talents and boost their self-esteem, and we will expand our cooperation into various fields such as career education and cultural exchange." After concluding the agreement ceremony on this day, he stopped by Ulsan City Hall to have a tea conversation with Mayor Kim Sang-wook. He explained the significance and meaning of the K-Culture event, which will be held at the Ulsan College of Science West Campus for five days from August 10 to 14 and will bring together multicultural youth and local youth. He also did not forget to ask Ulsan City Hall to pay close attention to multicultural families and the multicultural educational environment.
