Miryang Culture & Tourism Foundation Embarks on International Expansion of Local Cultural Heritage

Signs MOU for Cultural and Artistic Exchange with Baksh Art Center in Uzbekistan

The Miryang Culture & Tourism Foundation has partnered with a traditional arts institution in Central Asia to promote the international expansion of local cultural heritage.

The Foundation announced on the 8th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Baksh Art Center at the Miryang Arirang Training Center to revitalize cultural and artistic exchanges.

This agreement goes beyond simple performance exchanges, focusing instead on diaspora cultural exchanges based on UNESCO cultural heritage and the joint development of global traditional arts content. It is particularly noteworthy for establishing an international cooperation model that combines local traditional culture with K-culture.

Moving forward, both organizations plan to jointly pursue projects including the mutual exchange of traditional cultural and artistic content, initiatives linked to UNESCO cultural and artistic festivals, the joint hosting of international competitions and performances, and the development and overseas dissemination of traditional culture fusion content. With this agreement as a starting point, the Foundation plans to gradually expand international cooperation projects based on UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage and accelerate the establishment of an overseas network for local cultural assets centered on Miryang Arirang.

CEO Lee Chi-woo stated, “This marks the starting point for practical cooperation that connects local traditional culture with the global stage,” adding, “We will continue to expand international cultural exchanges to broaden the modern value and competitiveness of traditional arts.”
