Turbine Crew (CEO Kieun Jeon), a renewable energy infrastructure innovation startup, is challenging for the Energy Innovation Award category at ‘The Smarter E Award’ presented by Europe’s largest energy industry exhibition, ‘The Smarter E Europe.’

Turbine Crew is a Korean startup that has developed solutions that combine AI (artificial intelligence) and renewable energy technology to achieve energy independence in urban and rural areas. According to the company, it can design hybrid power generation systems encompassing solar, wind, and seawater power, and holds unrivaled expertise in energy management platforms that integrate data collection and AI analysis beyond simple power production.

In particular, Turbine Crew proved its capabilities by successfully winning awards at large-scale global exhibitions such as CES consecutively within the last three years, and is spreading the company’s vision regarding ‘intelligent energy nodes’ that connect smart cities and smart farms to the global market.

In addition, through this challenge for The Smarter E Award, Turbine Crew plans to strengthen its responsiveness to global regulations and solidify its position as a platform company leading the sustainable energy transition.

The core solution presented by Turbine Crew for this award is ‘Eco-Clebine,’ a multi-source, renewable-energy smart pole. This is a hybrid power generation system that integrates solar, wind, and seawater energy into a single structure, designed to maintain a stable power supply throughout the year by utilizing complex power sources.

For instance, the essence lies in resolving the uncertainty of power production in existing power generation systems by utilizing solar power during the day when sunlight is abundant, wind power at night or in environments with worsening weather conditions, and seawater power generation in coastal areas.

In particular, Eco-Clebine aims for an ‘urban energy platform’ and supports not only the storage and distribution of independently produced power but also the integrated operation of AI video analysis, communication equipment, and drone charging stations. Accordingly, it is considered to have an optimal structure for remote areas where connection to the external power grid is difficult, or for use as distributed energy nodes in smart cities.

The background of Turbine Crew challenging the Smarter E Award again after securing multiple global award histories lies in the specificity of the European market. Analysis shows that Europe is the region with the strictest carbon-neutral (net-zero) policies and ESG standards worldwide, with abundant demand for distributed power sources and smart infrastructure.

In line with this, Turbine Crew plans to use this award to promote alignment of its technology with European energy transition policies in the local market and to accelerate the materialization and expansion of local Proof of Concept (PoC) projects based in Germany to target the global market. The company is already establishing specific roadmaps, such as demonstrating urban smart poles in Germany and constructing public lighting and environmental monitoring systems. Furthermore, it plans to promote market creation in North America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia in connection with its smart agriculture platform ‘TlatFarm.’

Competitiveness, as evidenced by quantitative figures, is cited as a factor in the high evaluation of Eco-Clebine’s award potential. Previously, the company confirmed a carbon dioxide emission reduction of approximately 200–300kg per unit annually and reported a reduction in the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) of approximately 10–20% or more. Also, it significantly lowered the threshold for urban installation with a high-efficiency design that operates even at low wind speeds and low-noise technology.

In addition, Turbine Crew completed an English-language application by simultaneously redefining the technology and advancing development in line with global evaluation standards. Through this challenge, the company plans to establish a step-by-step export structure leading from winning the award and securing technical reliability to local demonstration and reference construction.

Turbine Crew CEO Kieun Jeon stated, “The Smarter E Award evaluates not only the performance of the technology but also the structural value and social contribution that the technology provides to the overall energy system.” He added, “I am confident that judges will find great appeal in our Eco-Clebine, which is designed to produce eco-friendly, continuous, and efficient energy from various sources and supply it immediately to where it is needed.”

CEO Jeon added, “Through winning this award, we will raise the status of ‘K-Energy’ and create decisive momentum for entering the European market.”

The Smarter E Europe 2026, opening in Munich, Germany, on June 23 (Tue, local time), is the world’s largest exhibition, with global companies leading the renewable energy industry participating in large numbers. The Smarter E Award, presented here, strictly evaluates and selects winners based on five core indicators—Impact, Uniqueness, Social Benefit, Economic Benefit, and Innovation—in addition to the product’s technology and performance, and boasts the highest level of authority in the industry.
