The Samsung Life Science Fund announced on May 7 that it will invest in ‘Cartography Biosciences’, a U.S. bio-venture company.
The Samsung Life Science Fund is a venture investment fund jointly funded by Samsung C&T, Samsung Biologics, and Samsung Bioepis, and operated by Samsung Venture Investment.
Cartography Biosciences is a company with capabilities in designing antibody therapies based on its identification of tumor-specific antigens and antigen combinations through its proprietary ‘ATLAS’ and ‘SUMMIT’ platforms. Its main pipeline includes the T cell engager ‘CBI-1214’ for colorectal cancer, and this candidate substance is scheduled to enter Phase 1 clinical trials in early 2026, with patient recruitment currently underway.
Hyung-nam Chung, Head of the R&D Center (Vice President) at Samsung Biologics, stated, “Cartography is a next-generation biotech innovator that can change the treatment paradigm by combining single-cell genetic data for each cancer type with bioinformatics,” adding, “We will continue to support innovative technologies for patients worldwide.”
Kevin Parker, CEO of Cartography Biosciences, said, “Samsung is the optimal partner that best aligns with our company’s goal of developing differentiated therapeutics by precisely analyzing tumor biology.”
