Samjin Pharmaceutical announced that it has signed a business agreement with AI-based healthcare company Ontact Health for the exclusive domestic distribution of its AI-powered cardiac ultrasound solution, SONIX HEALTH.
Under the agreement, Samjin Pharmaceutical will handle the supply and distribution of SONIX HEALTH in Korea, while both companies will expand their collaboration in the digital healthcare sector. The two firms also plan to accelerate adoption of the solution across domestic medical institutions and carry out joint marketing initiatives.

SONIX HEALTH, developed by Ontact Health, is an AI-driven automated echocardiography analysis solution that has secured both FDA 510(k) clearance and Class II medical device certification from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS). The approvals, the companies said, demonstrate the product’s technological reliability and global competitiveness.
Traditionally, echocardiography interpretation has relied heavily on operator expertise and subjective judgment, with procedures typically taking 60 to 90 minutes and incurring high costs. SONIX HEALTH addresses these limitations through a “one-click” AI-based automated analysis system that reduces examination time by more than 70 percent and improves clinical efficiency.
The solution also demonstrated strong technical performance in clinical studies and published papers, with image classification accuracy rates of 96 percent for B-mode, 99 percent for Doppler and 100 percent for M-mode imaging. In addition, the correlation coefficient for automated left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LV GLS) analysis reached about 0.97.
Notably, SONIX HEALTH provides an end-to-end integrated workflow -- from quantitative measurement and qualitative assessment to diagnostic summaries and recommendations for prescriptions and referrals -- offering what the companies described as a competitive advantage over rival products. As of the end of 2025, the system was in use at about 3,000 medical institutions worldwide.
Through the partnership, Samjin Pharmaceutical aims to expand beyond its traditional pharmaceutical business into AI-based medical devices and digital healthcare. By combining its existing healthcare device portfolio -- including the ECG Holter monitoring system S-Patch Ex -- with the exclusive distribution of SONIX HEALTH, the company plans to strengthen its cardiovascular diagnostic solution lineup.
Chang Hyuk-jae, CEO of Ontact Health, said, “This agreement with Samjin Pharmaceutical marks a major step toward expanding SONIX HEALTH in the domestic market. Through our collaboration, we aim to enhance the quality of echocardiography diagnostics in primary care settings.”
Samjin Pharmaceutical President Kim Sang-jin said, “This partnership represents a significant strategic move as we lead the future of digital healthcare. By combining Ontact Health’s innovative AI technology with our extensive medical network, we aim to improve early diagnosis rates of cardiovascular diseases and contribute to building a more patient-centered healthcare environment.”
