TAEYONG of NCT returns with fiercer instincts and a stronger inner identity, once again aiming straight for the hearts of listeners.
On May 18, SM Entertainment released an official Q&A interview celebrating the launch of TAEYONG’s first full-length album, "WYLD."

"WYLD" marks TAEYONG’s first studio album in nearly two years. TAEYONG participated in writing and producing every track, fully embedding his own musical identity throughout the project. The album contains 10 tracks, including the title song "WYLD," inspired by the instinctive movement of wild animals and infused with the artist’s untamed inner self.
Speaking about the title track, TAEYONG said, “It’s the perfect song to release the energy and instincts that built up during the past two years,” adding, “Please focus on the feeling of instinct being unleashed as the music and performance explode together.”

Regarding his goals for this comeback, he shared, “I hope people feel that the music and color of ‘TAEYONG’ have become even clearer.” He continued, “Since this album honestly pours out who I am right now, I hope listeners can also experience a liberating moment where they instinctively feel free.”
TAEYONG also hinted at another powerful leap forward as a more mature artist.
Meanwhile, TAEYONG officially begins promotions for his first solo full-length album "WYLD" later that day through a special live broadcast.
(Full Q&A for NCT TAEYONG’s first full-length album "WYLD" below.)
This is your first full-length album in two years. What did you focus on most while producing the album?
▲I’m excited and nervous at the same time. Over the past two years, I studied a lot and worked hard to grow. Through discussions with the company, I focused on properly showing the image of “artist TAEYONG.” I thought deeply about how to express the emotions and thoughts inside me, and that process ultimately completed the overall color of this album.

What does the album title "WYLD" mean, and why did you choose it as the title track?
▲It comes from the initials of “Wild, Yell, Loud, Dance.” I wanted to express things like wildness, roaring, dance, and instinct. I thought "WYLD" perfectly matched the idea of releasing the energy and instincts that had built up during the two-year hiatus. It’s the most honest result of pouring out the instincts and energy that had accumulated inside me.
This is your first album since completing military service. Were there any musical changes or growth?
▲There were major changes in the overall quality of the songs and in how I deliver lyrics. If the message didn’t feel convincing enough, I boldly set the song aside and carefully selected only the tracks that could most clearly show who I am now. In the past, I would revise songs dozens of times, but now I usually find the direction I want after only two or three revisions, so I think I’ve grown a little. (Laughs)

What should listeners focus on during the performance, and when did you feel most instinctively immersed?
▲My favorite part is the flow during the third verse when the hyperpop sound explodes and the emotions and energy are released together. The key point is the feeling of the music and choreography bursting at the same time. The moment I felt most instinctively immersed was during the music video shoot. It wasn’t easy bringing out the emotions we wanted, but because of that, the energy came out even more honestly.
What kind of response or achievement do you hope for through this promotion?
▲I want to show people a more developed version of myself, and I hope they feel that the music and color of “TAEYONG” have become even clearer. Since "WYLD" marks the beginning of a new chapter, I’m personally very excited to see what kind of image I’ll continue to create moving forward.
A message for NCTzen, the fans who waited for you for so long?
▲NCTzen, thank you for waiting for me for so long. This first full-length album came after a tremendous amount of preparation and effort over a long period of time. Through this promotion, I hope you enjoy my more developed side and music together with me. Let’s happily enjoy this promotion together as well. Thank you.
