Lotte Biologics has won additional manufacturing work from U.K. biotech Ottimo Pharma for an antibody drug now in phase 1/2a testing.
The Korean contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) said Monday it will produce more drug substance for Ottimo’s OTP-01, also known as Jankistomig, at its Syracuse Bio Campus in New York.
The companies first signed an antibody manufacturing agreement in June 2025.
Lotte Biologics declined to disclose the value or length of the latest contract, citing client confidentiality, but told Korea Biomedical Review the new order expands the production volume covered by the earlier deal.
The company said the agreement also adds process development work, although it declined to give further details on the specific tasks involved because of confidentiality requests from Ottimo.
A Lotte Biologics spokesperson said the latest order is not a repeat of last year’s contract, but an expansion tied to Ottimo’s clinical progress.
OTP-01 is a PD-1/VEGFR2 dual-paratopic antibody designed to act on cancer immune response and tumor blood vessel growth pathways. The drug remains in early human testing.
The Lotte spokesperson said Ottimo expanded the partnership partly because of Lotte’s U.S. manufacturing site, antibody production experience and regulatory track record, including support for more than 62 approvals or regulatory filings with agencies such as the U.S. FDA, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and Japan’s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA).
Spencer Fisk, Ottimo’s chief technical and quality officer, said in Monday's statement that LOTTE’s ability “to move quickly and reliably” helped Ottimo initiate its phase 1/2a study “with industry-leading speed.”
The latest work will be done in Syracuse. Lotte said the project could later move into larger-scale production at its Songdo Bio Campus in Korea if OTP-01 reaches commercialization.
Lotte expects to complete the first plant at Songdo this year.
