President Lee Jae Myung and his Indonesian counterpart Prabowo Subianto discussed ways to advance bilateral cooperation across sectors as they met for their summit in Seoul, Wednesday, according to Cheong Wa Dae.
The presidential office said the areas discussed ranged from defense, arms, trade and investment to relatively new sectors of cooperation, including artificial intelligence (AI), infrastructure, shipbuilding, nuclear power, energy transition and cultural and creative industries.

The summit was held as Subianto visits Korea until Thursday on a three-day state visit. It comes after the two leaders met last year during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province.
The Seoul-Jakarta relationship will be elevated to a special comprehensive strategic partnership, up from the current special strategic partnership signed in 2017, during Wednesday’s summit, Cheong Wa Dae said.
Meanwhile, Subianto received the Order of Mugunghwa, the highest medal of honor in Korea, in recognition of his contributions to supporting the activities of Korean companies operating in Indonesia and promoting friendly relations between the two countries.
