KEPCO KPS Q1 net profit up 161.9 pct to 29.4 bln won

SEOUL, May 11 (Yonhap) -- KEPCO KPS on Monday reported a first-quarter net profit of 29.4 billion won (US$19.9 million), up a sharp 161.9 percent from a year earlier.

The total plant solution company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 37 billion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 7.8 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 22.4 percent to 352.4 billion won.

KEPCO KPS is part of Korea's top electric utility company KEPCO.
