Eastern Europe’s largest defense expo runs May 13-15 in Bucharest

Hyundai Rotem announced that it will participate in the ‘BSDA (Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security)’ defense exhibition, held in Bucharest, Romania, from May 13 (local time) to the 15th.
BSDA is the largest defense exhibition in Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region, sponsored by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania, and is held biennially.
The theme for Hyundai Rotem’s participation in this exhibition is “Romania’s Partner in Readiness”. Together with its domestic partner companies, it will showcase high-quality ground weapon system solutions integrated with advanced technologies, such as the K2 tank and multipurpose unmanned ground vehicles.
At this exhibition, Hyundai Rotem will focus on promoting its unmanned systems technology, including the ‘HR-SHERPA’ multipurpose unmanned ground vehicle, unmanned firefighting robots, and multi-legged robots.
The demonstration program consists of three main parts. Various mission scenarios will be demonstrated, including: ▲ a counter-drone defense operation by the HR-SHERPA, performing the mission of detecting and intercepting enemy drones; ▲ a joint operation between a multi-legged robot and the HR-SHERPA for reconnaissance and fire support missions; and ▲ a driving and functional demonstration of the unmanned firefighting robot, which was developed based on the HR-SHERPA.
Hyundai Rotem’s package business capabilities, which combine the defense and railway sectors, will also be introduced. The company will also promote its unique package business capabilities that encompass its defense business, including the K2 tank, multipurpose unmanned ground vehicles, and wheeled armored vehicles, as well as its railway business, which includes high-speed trains, electric multiple units, and hydrogen mobility and infrastructure.
Through this exhibition, Hyundai Rotem will introduce its latest high-speed trains and electric multiple units, such as the EMU-370 and the KTX-Cheongryong.
Furthermore, Hyundai Rotem will set up a separate Win-Win Cooperation Zone within its booth, an exhibition space dedicated to its partner companies. Equipment from partner companies that collaborate on the development and production of major product lines, such as tanks and multipurpose unmanned ground vehicles, will be displayed.
A K2 tank will be displayed in front of the Hyundai Rotem booth to greet visitors. Inside the booth, visitors can see Hyundai Rotem’s lineup of ground weapon system products at a glance, including the armored recovery vehicle, armored vehicle-launched bridge, combat engineering vehicle, and the 30-ton class wheeled armored vehicle.
