HS Hyosung Advanced Materials participated in ‘Techtextil 2026’, held in Frankfurt, Germany, from April 21 to 24 (local time).
Techtextil is an exhibition that introduces advanced industrial materials for various fields such as automotive, defense, aerospace, and shipbuilding. It has been held biennially since it was first launched in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1986. This year, more than 1,500 companies from 49 countries around the world participated.
HS Hyosung Advanced Materials has participated in every exhibition since 2003, introducing its advanced materials and exploring new markets. On the evening of the 22nd (local time), the second day of Techtextil, HS Hyosung hosted the ‘HS Hyosung Night’ event, inviting over 130 guests, including figures from global companies such as Autoliv, ZF (ZF Friedrichshafen AG), and Continental, as well as Lim Sang-beom, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Germany.
On this day, Vice Chairman Cho was on the front lines of sales, listening directly to the voices of partner companies and discussing ways to cooperate. The event venue was transformed into a ‘showcase of K-culture’, featuring a fusion Gugak (Korean traditional music) performance, a Hanbok (traditional Korean attire) experience, and a variety of K-foods such as bulgogi and gimbap.
Vice Chairman Cho Hyun-sang stated, “This special experience of sharing the beauty of Korea through K-culture will be an opportunity to elevate HS Hyosung Advanced Materials’ global partnerships to the next level,” adding, “As a sincere partner that fosters not only technological prowess but also emotional connection, we will take the lead in creating differentiated value in the global materials market.”
At this exhibition, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials showcased its full lineup of advanced fiber materials in one place, from super fibers like carbon fiber and aramid to tire cords, airbags, seatbelts, and car mats.
Leading with its high-performance carbon fiber brand ‘TANSOME®’, developed with proprietary technology, HS Hyosung Advanced Materials unveiled practical application cases in advanced industrial sectors requiring high-strength properties, such as drones and high-pressure hydrogen vessels. In addition, through its aramid brand ‘ALKEX®’, which is five times stronger than steel and can withstand high temperatures of 500 degrees Celsius, the company also demonstrated its technological prowess in a wide range of industrial materials, including defense equipment like bulletproof vests and helmets, as well as reinforcement for 5G optical cables and automotive hoses.
In the polyester tire reinforcement sector, in line with the exhibition’s key theme of a ‘circular economy’, the company highlighted its recycled polyester (Recycled PET) tire cord. It also introduced a host of advanced recycling solutions for a sustainable future, such as a ‘circular recycling system’ that cuts and regenerates used seatbelts to create new ones.
