HD Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Q1 net profit up 86.6 pct to 1.14 tln won
SEOUL, May 7 (Yonhap) -- HD Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering on Thursday reported a first-quarter net profit of 1.14 trillion won (US$786.6 million), up 86.6 percent from a year earlier.
The marine solutions company said in a regulatory filing that it posted 1.35 trillion won in operating profit for the quarter, compared with 859.2 billion won a year ago. Sales rose 20.2 percent to 8.14 trillion won.
The operating profit was 15.4 percent higher than the average estimate, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. The estimate of net profit was not available.
