SEOUL, May 4 (Yonhap) -- HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) Co. said Monday that it has secured a 505 billion-won (US$ 343 million) deal to build three gas tankers.

HD KSOE, a subholding company of shipbuilding giant HD Hyundai Co., said the three very large gas carriers (VLGCs) will be delivered by the end of second half of 2029 to an unidentified customer.

With the latest deal, HD KSOE has clinched deals valued at a combined US$9.35 billion to build 86 ships so far this year, achieving 40 percent of its annual order target.

The order backlog secured in 2026 include 12 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, 20 container vessels and 18 ammonia carriers, it said.
