The agreement aims to address trial delays caused by prolonged medical appraisal procedures, particularly in medical lawsuits and cases requiring complex physical examinations.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will cooperate to shorten the time required to submit medical expert reports by using a priority referral system involving designated medical institutions. The court expects the system to improve the speed and efficiency of trial proceedings.
Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital said it plans to provide objective and reliable medical opinions more quickly by leveraging its specialists and advanced precision diagnostic systems, thereby contributing to more efficient judicial administration.
“The agreement will serve as an important step in strengthening public trust in the judicial process and protecting people’s rights,” Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital Director Ju Woong said. “This business agreement will become a significant turning point in enhancing trust in judicial administration and protecting the rights and interests of the public.”
Ju added that the hospital would contribute not only to improving trial efficiency but also to easing delays for citizens awaiting fair legal judgments.
