Remsima Leads Infliximab Sales Across Major European Markets

Celltrion is further solidifying its local influence in Europe based on the prescription growth of its entire product lineup.
According to the pharmaceutical market research firm IQVIA, Remsima, Celltrion’s flagship autoimmune disease treatment, recorded a combined market share of 70% in Europe in the fourth quarter of 2025. While maintaining a dominant market leadership over competitors, the steady trend in prescriptions has once again proven its firm leadership in the European infliximab market.
The performance was particularly prominent in the top five European countries (EU5). In the United Kingdom, the Remsima product line leads the market with an 83% share, and it has also demonstrated a solid competitive advantage in France and Italy with shares of 82% and 80%, respectively.
The steep growth of Remsima SC was also confirmed. In Germany, a major European country, it surpassed the majority with a 50% market share, and it continued its growth trend in France with a 36% share. In Greece and Luxembourg, Remsima SC showed a market share close to 100%, indicating that it is effectively monopolizing the market in some small and medium-sized European countries.
Analysts suggest that the dual formulation effect, where patients switch from competing products to Remsima and then transition to Remsima SC, played a clear role in this performance. Given its globally proven treatment efficacy, supply stability, and the unrivaled competitiveness of having the world’s only subcutaneous infliximab formulation, the growth trend based on the synergy between the Remsima product lines is expected to continue.
Anticancer drugs also showed a stable prescription flow. ‘Vegzelma’ (active ingredient: bevacizumab), a treatment for metastatic colorectal and breast cancer, recorded a 30% market share, up 4% from the previous quarter, maintaining its top position in the bevacizumab market. In particular, Vegzelma is continuing to expand its influence by overcoming the handicap of being a late entrant and leveraging customized direct sales strategies and the competitiveness of the Celltrion brand.
The growth of highly profitable new products that were fully launched in the European market starting last year is also clearly evident. ‘Omlyclo’ (active ingredient: omalizumab), a treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria launched in Europe as a first mover in September last year, recorded a 15% market share in just two quarters after its launch, instilling strong expectations for securing an early foothold in the market. Prescriptions are rapidly expanding in major countries, including Denmark, which recorded a 98% share through a national bidding contract, as well as Spain (80%) and the Netherlands (70%), continuing remarkable achievements from the early stages.
‘Apptozma’ (active ingredient: tocilizumab), an autoimmune disease treatment sequentially launched in major European countries from the end of last year to January this year, is also cruising smoothly, recording a 5% market share in Europe during the same period. In some countries, such as Portugal (30%) and Spain (13%), it successfully established an early market presence with double-digit market shares.
As the growth of both new and existing Celltrion products is confirmed through IQVIA, expectations for earnings growth this year are also rising. In fact, Celltrion achieved strong results in the first quarter of this year, recording 1.145 trillion won (approximately $880.77 million) in sales and 321.9 billion won (approximately $247.62 million) in operating profit, up 36% and 115.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Since bidding in major European countries is typically concentrated in the second and third quarters, and the subsequent initial volume supply is scheduled to take place after that point, Celltrion’s earnings growth is expected to accelerate toward the second half of the year.
A Celltrion official stated, “In addition to the stable sales of our flagship products centered on the Remsima product line, our highly profitable new product lines are also recording steep prescription trends from the early stages of their European launch, leading to continuous performance across our overall portfolio. We will make every effort to achieve results that exceed the target performance presented this year.”
