올해 기조연설의 핵심 키워드는 단연 ‘AI-DLC(AI-Driven Development Lifecycle)’였다.

“AI is now heading into the real world”… The 'Real-world AI' shown at AWS Summit Seoul 2026
AI is now moving beyond the stage of providing answers to a stage where it makes judgments and executes on its own.
This message permeated the entire 'AWS Summit Seoul 2026,' held at COEX in Seoul on the 20th and 21st. Amazon Web Services (AWS), celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, put Agentic AI and Physical AI at the forefront of the event, emphasizing that AI is rapidly expanding into actual industrial operations and the real world.
Thousands of developers and corporate representatives flocked to the keynote venue over the two days, demonstrating high interest in the next-generation AI and cloud strategies presented by AWS. (Photo: Venture Square)
This year's AWS Summit differed from the atmosphere of a typical technology conference. While the initial craze for Generative AI focused on "what can be built," this event was closer to "how to operate AI in actual work and industries." From development and robotics to media, beauty, commerce, and security, almost every exhibition and session was tailored to the 'real-world deployment' of AI.
The AWS 20th Anniversary special booth set up at the entrance of the venue was a space to look back on the technological evolution of AWS, which began with Amazon S3 and EC2 in 2006. However, the atmosphere was closer to the next decade than a retrospective of the past. Messages related to Agentic AI, AI infrastructure, and Physical AI appeared repeatedly throughout the booth.
“Organizations Working with AI”… A New Development Method Presented by AWS
The key keyword of this year's keynote speech was undoubtedly 'AI-DLC (AI-Driven Development Lifecycle)'.
Ham Ki-ho, CEO of AWS Korea, emphasized, “AI is now moving beyond being a simple productivity tool to a stage where it redesigns the way organizations work.”

AI-DLC, proposed by AWS, is a collaborative structure in which AI proposes architectures and processes during the development process, while humans verify, supervise, and make decisions. In fact, LG Electronics' MS Business Division reported that development productivity doubled after adopting AI-DLC, and CJ Olive Young stated that it completed MVPs for five projects during a three-day workshop.
The atmosphere on site was also closer to an 'organization working with AI' than simple 'AI coding.'
At the AWS Developer Lounge, a demo of the AI-based development tool Kiro was unveiled, showcasing the future of the evolving development environment, ranging from code writing to workflow automation. (Photo courtesy of AWS)
Visitors flocked to the 'Kiro Zone,' a developer experience space. 'Kiro,' the AI development tool unveiled by AWS, went beyond simple code auto-completion to connect natural language-based requirements with operational design specifications and code structures. Voice command-based interactions and CLI hands-on experiences were conducted on-site.
During the AI Day session on the second day, it was also said, “If AI creates the code, humans need to look at the structure.” Yoon Seok-chan, Senior Tech Evangelist at AWS Korea, presented curiosity, systems thinking, and clear communication as competencies required for developers in the AI era, and introduced the concept of a ‘Renaissance Developer.’
The presentation by Woowa Brothers also received a great response from the audience. AWS Community Hero Shin Jae-hyun introduced the concept of 'Harness Engineering,' explaining that rather than individuals who are good at using AI, it is important to “create an environment where anyone can achieve a certain level of results.”
Kim Seong-hoon, CEO of Upstage (Photo courtesy of AWS)
Kim Sung-hoon, CEO of Upstage, who delivered the keynote speech on the first day, also emphasized the speed of change in the AI era. He assessed that the competition in generative AI is moving beyond the stage of simply releasing models to actual work productivity and industrial application. He stressed that it is time for Korean companies to move beyond merely adopting AI and consider "how to actually make it work within the organization." Attendees also showed particularly high interest in Korean-style AI models and the competitive landscape of the enterprise AI market.
Amorepacific also disclosed that it is managing over 500,000 diagnostic data points across 10 countries through its AWS-based AI skin diagnosis service. Introducing everything from a beauty concierge service that analyzes skin condition from a single photo to generative AI-based review analysis and examples of improved development productivity using the AI coding tool 'Kiro,' the presentation demonstrated that AI is moving beyond simple recommendation functions and entering actual global beauty operating systems.

In particular, the AWS for Industries Zone features industry-specific AI application cases from companies such as Amorepacific, KBS+A LIVE, and NCAI, and is designed as a space to demonstrate “what companies have actually started operating since the advent of Generative AI.”
Sendbird presented "Memorizing AI" as a key keyword at this event. They explained that the next competitive edge in customer experience will be an AI concierge structure that remembers customer context and previous conversations—rather than a simple response-based chatbot—and seamlessly transitions between messenger and voice channels. In fact, they demonstrated a workflow where AI connects inquiry response, reservations, and consultation tasks through examples such as Coupang Eats, Hanssem, and overseas airlines.
From digital to the real world… AWS demonstrates 'real-world AI'
One of the most crowded areas at this year's AWS Summit was the 'Physical AI Zone.' At the event, AWS focused on demonstrating that AI is rapidly expanding beyond simply generating on-screen responses to actual physical spaces, robot operations, and logistics environments.
At the Physical AI Zone within the AWS Summit exhibition hall, autonomous robots and multi-robot control systems simulating real-world logistics environments were demonstrated, showcasing the trend of AI expanding into real-world spaces. (Photo: Venture Square)
At the event, an autonomous robot was demonstrated moving along a designated path and connecting to a real-time control system. When visitors entered requests via mobile devices, the robot moved within the actual space to perform tasks, while operational data and status information were displayed in real-time on a large monitor. The response from visitors was enthusiastic, as the setup was closer to an actual operating environment than conventional exhibition robot demos.
A collaborative robot-based demonstration followed. The robotic arm recognized and sorted cans, plastics, and glass bottles, and coordinated the workflow while moving within the same space as humans. Unlike traditional industrial automation where humans adapt to the robot's movements, this model involved AI recognizing the human's location and movement path in real time to move alongside them.
In the Physical AI Zone, a real-world robot operation structure reminiscent of Amazon's logistics environment drew attention. It went beyond simply showcasing robot technology; it was closer to demonstrating how AI moves, makes decisions, and connects with workflows within real-world spaces. The entire venue demonstrated that the scope of AI application is rapidly expanding beyond digital screens into the real world as generative AI, robotics, and edge computing combine.
“AI has entered the real world”… The rise of physical AI
AWS also unveiled the 'Sim2Real and Edge Operations' configuration at the exhibition. This structure connects AI models trained in a simulation environment to actual robot operating environments. By improving the accuracy of robot operations in the real world based on data iteratively trained in a virtual space, AWS explained the trend of generative AI and robotics expanding into actual industrial environments.
The trend of physical AI was repeatedly mentioned throughout the keynote speech and sessions. In particular, the concepts of digital twins and Sim2Real, where AI understands and utilizes real-world spatial data, emerged as key keywords. Through case studies of related companies such as RealWorld, a structure was introduced in which AI trained in virtual spaces is connected to actual logistics and robot operating environments. This demonstrated that generative AI is moving beyond simple answer-based AI to a stage where it moves and makes decisions within the real world.
ROAI showcased a demo demonstrating the direct application of a robot movement path designed in a web-based 3D environment to an actual robot. Visitors were able to set the robot's movement path via a browser-based interface and observe the actual equipment executing it on-site. This structure connects digital simulation with real-world robot operation.
Config implemented a work environment where humans and robots collaborate. By having robots recognize human movements in real-time and adjust their speed and movement paths, it demonstrated a flow where AI coordinates human-centered behavior within the space.
Newbility showcased a demo connecting autonomous delivery and patrol robots currently in service with an integrated control system. When a visitor entered a request via an app, the robot moved along a designated route, and camera footage and operational status were synchronized in real time.
At the event, competition regarding the infrastructure and governance for operating AI stably was more prominent than the AI itself. MetanetX emphasized cloud governance and an operating system based on security, disaster recovery, and AIOps, while Bespin Global introduced an enterprise AI operations platform strategy that integrates data linkage, RAGOps, LLMOps, and AI security monitoring. This demonstrated that the competition in generative AI is shifting beyond model performance to the stage of creating an 'operable structure.'
At the event, there was a strong sense that physical AI is no longer merely an introduction to future concepts. Generative AI is rapidly expanding beyond the stage of creating documents and providing answers to move, make decisions, and perform tasks within real-world spaces. Another key highlight of this AWS Summit was the broadening scope of AI applications across the real world, extending to logistics, patrols, facility management, and industrial automation.
今年の基調演説の核心キーワードは断然「AI-DLC(AI-Driven Development Lifecycle)」だった。
