The agreement was signed on April 23 during the Korea-Vietnam Business Forum, which was held as part of President Lee Jae Myung’s economic delegation to Vietnam.
“Our participation in the delegation allowed us to discuss potential cooperation in Korean medical AI technology with Vietnamese government officials and establish a foundation for broader collaboration in the healthcare AI field,” the company said.
Under the agreement, AITRICS and the Hung Yen health authority will work together to improve the use of AI in Vietnam’s medical field and enhance regional healthcare services.
The two sides plan to pursue medical staff training, share technological and clinical experience through expert exchanges, and jointly hold academic seminars. AITRICS also plans to review the possibility of applying its AI solutions in line with Vietnam’s local medical environment and regulatory system.
Through the MOU, AITRICS said it has secured a foothold for cooperation with Vietnam’s public healthcare sector. The company plans to explore ways to expand the use of medical AI with hospitals under Hung Yen Province and gradually broaden the scope of cooperation, including by holding an AI symposium within this year for Vietnamese medical staff and key health ministry officials.
“Vietnam is a market with high demand and growth potential for the adoption of medical AI,” AITRICS CEO Kim Kwang-joon said. “Through this agreement, we expect to lay the groundwork for the use of medical AI in Vietnam and contribute to improving the quality of healthcare services.”
The company will continue to build cooperation models tailored to each regional medical environment and strengthen its position as a global medical AI company, Kim added.
AITRICS received medical device approval in Vietnam in October 2024 for AITRICS-VC, also known as VitalCare, an AI solution that predicts patient deterioration. The company has also obtained approval for VitalCare in five countries and regions, including Korea, the U.S., Vietnam, Indonesia and Hong Kong, including approval from the FDA.
“We are continuing to expand our global business by pursuing additional regulatory approvals in Southeast Asian markets such as Singapore and Malaysia,” the company said.
