오전 8시, 취리히에서 출발해 스피에즈(Spiez)로 향했다.

수없이 스위스를 오갔지만 스피에즈와 튠은 이번이 처음이다.

익숙한 곳을 지나 처음 가보는 도시로 향한다는 것이 여행의 또 다른 즐거움인 것 같다.

스피에즈는 툰 호수(Lake Thun)를 품고 있는 작은 호수 마을이었다.

호숫가 언덕 위에 자리한 성과 주변의 포도밭,

그리고 호수를 따라 이어지는 집들이 한 폭의 그림처럼 펼쳐졌다.

규모가 크거나 화려한 관광지는 아니지만,

그래서 오히려 더 스위스다운 아름다움이 느껴졌다.

스피에즈는 무엇인가를 많이 보고 즐기는 곳이라기보다,

그 풍경 자체를 바라보며 천천히 걷고 싶은 마을이었다.

이후 튠(Thun)으로 가기 위해 배를 탔다.

약 45분 동안 툰 호수를 따라 이동하는 동안 산과 호수,

그리고 호숫가의 작은 마을들이 차례로 눈앞에 펼쳐졌다.

역시 스위스는 기차보다 배를 타고 바라볼 때 또 다른 모습을 보여주는 것 같다.

튠에 도착하니 분위기가 조금 달라졌다.

스피에즈가 자연과 호수의 아름다움을 간직한 작은 마을이라면,

튠은 역사와 도시의 매력이 함께 느껴지는 곳이었다.

언덕 위에 자리한 튠 성과 교회,

그리고 성 아래로 이어지는 오래된 올드타운은

스위스의 옛 도시 모습을 그대로 간직하고 있었다.

아레강을 따라 이어지는 거리와 오래된 건물들까지 더해지니

스피에즈보다 볼거리도 많고 조금 더 활기찬 느낌이었다.

오늘 날씨는 그리 좋지 않았다. 중간중간 비가 내렸고 하늘도 흐렸다.

하지만 이상하게도 그런 날씨가 오늘의 풍경과 잘 어울렸다.

호수와 산을 바라보며 자리 잡은 집들은 비에 젖은 풍경 속에서 더욱 운치 있게 보였고,

마치 오래된 그림 속 한 장면 같았다.

높은 알프스가 바로 눈앞에 펼쳐지는 곳은 아니지만,

취리히에서 하루 일정으로 다녀오기에는 스피에즈와 튠 모두 충분히 아름다운 곳이었다.

스피에즈가 호수와 자연이 만들어낸 스위스의 아름다움이라면,

튠은 성곽과 올드타운이 보여주는 스위스의 역사와 문화라고 할 수 있을 것 같다.

수없이 스위스를 다녔지만 오늘 처음 만난 두 도시.

스피에즈에서는 스위스의 고요한 아름다움을, 튠에서는 스위스의 오래된 시간을 만났다.

I left Zurich at 8 a.m. and headed first to Spiez.

Although I have visited Switzerland countless times,

this was my first time visiting both Spiez and Thun.

There is something special about discovering places you have never been to before,

even in a country that feels so familiar.

Spiez is a small lakeside village on the shores of Lake Thun.

With its castle perched on a hill overlooking the lake,

vineyards, and beautiful homes stretching along the water,

it looked like a scene from a Swiss postcard.

It is not a large or flashy tourist destination,

but perhaps that is what makes it so authentically Swiss.

Rather than rushing from one attraction to another,

Spiez is a place where you simply want to walk slowly and take in the scenery.

From Spiez, I took a boat to Thun. The journey took about 45 minutes,

and along the way I watched the mountains, lake,

and small villages pass by one after another.

Switzerland seems to reveal a completely different kind of beauty when

you experience it from the water rather than from a train.

When I arrived in Thun, the atmosphere felt quite different.

If Spiez is a place defined by nature and the peaceful beauty of the lake,

Thun has a stronger sense of history and a more urban character.

The castle standing on the hill, the church,

and the old town below it preserve the atmosphere of a traditional Swiss town.

The streets and historic buildings along the Aare River made

Thun feel more lively and offered more places to explore than Spiez.

The weather was not particularly good today.

It rained from time to time, and the sky remained mostly cloudy.

Yet somehow, the weather suited the scenery perfectly.

The houses nestled between the mountains

and the lake looked even more atmospheric under the soft rain,

almost like scenes from an old painting.

Although neither town offers the dramatic high Alps directly in front of you,

both Spiez and Thun are beautiful destinations for a day trip from Zurich.

If Spiez represents

the quiet beauty of Switzerland shaped by its lakes and nature,

then Thun represents

Switzerland’s history and culture, reflected in its castle and old town.

I have visited Switzerland countless times,

but today I discovered two places I had never seen before.

In Spiez, I found the peaceful beauty of Switzerland.

In Thun, I encountered a glimpse of Switzerland’s past.

It may have been a rainy day,

but perhaps that is why it became even more memorable.

今日は朝8時にチューリッヒを出発し、まずシュピーツ（Spiez）へ向かった。

これまで何度となくスイスを訪れているが、

シュピーツとトゥーンを訪れるのは今回が初めてだった。

何度も来たことのある国でも、初めて訪れる場所には、やはり新しい発見がある。

シュピーツは、トゥーン湖のほとりに佇む小さな湖畔の村だ。

湖を見下ろす丘の上には城があり、周囲にはブドウ畑が広がり、

湖沿いには美しい家々が並んでいる。

まるでスイスの絵葉書から抜け出してきたような風景だった。

大きな観光地でも、華やかな場所でもない。

けれど、だからこそ、よりスイスらしい美しさを感じることができた。

たくさんの観光名所を急いで巡るというより、

ゆっくり歩きながら、その風景そのものを楽しみたくなるような場所だった。

その後、シュピーツからトゥーンへ向かうため、船に乗った。

約45分の船旅の間、湖を取り囲む山々や湖畔の小さな村々が次々と目の前に現れた。

スイスは列車から眺める景色とはまた違い、

船の上から見ると、別の表情を見せてくれるように思う。

トゥーンに到着すると、街の雰囲気は少し違っていた。

シュピーツが自然と湖の静かな美しさを感じさせる場所だとすれば、

トゥーンは歴史と街の魅力が感じられる場所だった。

丘の上に建つトゥーン城と教会、

そしてその下に広がる旧市街。歴史ある建物やアーレ川沿いの街並みも美しく、

シュピーツよりも見どころが多く、少し活気のある印象を受けた。

今日はあいにく天気があまり良くなく、時折雨も降った。

それでも、不思議とその天気が今日の景色によく似合っていた。

湖と山の間に寄り添うように建つ家々は、

雨に濡れた景色の中でより一層趣があり、

まるで一枚の古い絵画を見ているようだった。

目の前に高いアルプスの山々が迫る場所ではないけれど、

チューリッヒから日帰りで訪れるには、シュピーツもトゥーンも十分に美しい場所だった。

シュピーツが湖と自然がつくり出すスイスの静かな美しさだとすれば、

トゥーンは城や旧市街に残るスイスの歴史と文化を感じさせてくれる街だと思う。

何度もスイスを訪れてきたけれど、今日は初めて二つの街に出会った。

シュピーツでは、スイスの静かな美しさに出会い、

トゥーンでは、スイスの古い時間に触れた。

雨の一日だったけれど、だからこそ、より心に残る旅になった。
