▲ NH농협무역·함양농협과 업무협약 체결
[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 양파 가격 약세가 이어지는 가운데 함양군이 해외시장 개척을 통한 수급 안정 대책 마련에 나섰다.
함양군은 18일 함양농협 본점에서 NH농협무역, 함양농협과 ‘함양 양파 수출 확대를 위한 3자 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 협약식에는 양상호 함양군수 권한대행과 이재호 NH농협무역 대표이사, 강선욱 함양농협 조합장을 비롯해 농협 관계자와 양파 생산자단체 관계자들이 참석했다.
협약에 따라 각 기관은 ▲함양 농산물 수출 확대 ▲수출 마케팅 및 유통망 공동 구축 ▲양파 수출 물량 확대 ▲신규 해외시장 개척 등을 위해 협력하기로 했다.
올해 양파 재배면적은 지난해와 비슷한 수준이지만 기상 여건 호조로 생산량 증가가 예상되면서 가격 하락 우려가 커지고 있다. 이에 따라 함양군은 내수 중심 유통 구조를 넘어 수출을 통한 물량 분산과 가격 안정 전략을 추진할 계획이다.
군은 올해 함양 양파 2천톤, 약 11억3천만원 규모 수출을 목표로 하고 있으며, 본격적인 수확 시기인 6월부터 대만 등을 중심으로 해외 수출에 나설 예정이다.
함양군은 이번 협약을 계기로 해외 판로를 확대하고 농가 소득 안정과 지역 농산물 경쟁력 강화에 집중할 방침이다.

Amidst continuing weakness in onion prices, Hamyang County has set out to establish measures to stabilize supply and demand by pioneering overseas markets.
Hamyang County announced on the 18th that it signed a "Trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Expanding Hamyang Onion Exports" with NH NongHyup Trade and Hamyang NongHyup at the Hamyang NongHyup headquarters.
The signing ceremony was attended by Yang Sang-ho, Acting County Governor of Hamyang; Lee Jae-ho, CEO of NH NongHyup Trade; Kang Seon-wook, Chairman of Hamyang NongHyup; as well as NongHyup officials and representatives from onion producer organizations.
Under the agreement, the organizations agreed to cooperate on: ▲ expanding exports of Hamyang agricultural products; ▲ jointly establishing export marketing and distribution networks; ▲ increasing onion export volume; and ▲ pioneering new overseas markets.
Although the onion cultivation area this year is similar to last year's, concerns about falling prices are growing as production is expected to increase due to favorable weather conditions. Accordingly, Hamyang County plans to move beyond a domestic-centered distribution structure and pursue strategies to diversify supply and stabilize prices through exports.
The county aims to export 2,000 tons of Hamyang onions, worth approximately 1.13 billion won, this year, and plans to begin exporting overseas, primarily to Taiwan, starting in June when the harvest season begins in earnest.
Through this agreement, Hamyang County intends to expand overseas sales channels and focus on stabilizing farm income and strengthening the competitiveness of local agricultural products.
