[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함양군이 양파 가격 안정과 지역 농업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 정부 지원을 요청했다.
함양군은 지난 7월 31일 농림축산식품부를 방문해 송미령 장관과 면담을 갖고 양파 수급 안정 대책과 지역 농업 발전을 위한 신규 국비사업을 건의했다고 밝혔다.
군은 올해 양파 생산량 증가에 대응해 농협과 생산자단체 등과 함께 수출 확대, 대도시 특판행사, 대형 유통업체 판촉, 온라인 판매 확대 등을 추진해 가격 안정에 노력하고 있다고 설명했다. 이어 정부 차원의 수출 활성화와 소비 촉진 사업 지원을 요청했다.
또 양파의 저장·가공·상품화 기반 확충과 식품소재 산업 육성을 통해 산지 농산물의 부가가치를 높이고 가격 안정 기반을 마련할 수 있도록 관련 신규 국비사업 반영을 건의했다.
이와 함께 그린바이오 산업 육성, 농산물 식품소재 산업화, 산지 유통 경쟁력 강화 등 지역 특성에 맞는 농정사업에 대한 정부 지원도 요청했다.
진병영 함양군수는 "농업인이 가장 큰 어려움을 겪는 것은 가격 불안정"이라며 "농림축산식품부와 협력해 지역 농산물의 판로 확대와 농가 소득 안정, 신규 국비사업 확보에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
