[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군이 지역 대표 농산물인 수박을 앞세워 전국을 넘어 세계 시장을 겨냥한 대형 축제를 연다.
2026 함안세계 수박축제는 오는 5월 1일부터 3일까지 3일간 함주공원 다목적 잔디구장 일원에서 개최된다.
‘1등 함안수박, 대한민국을 담아 세계로!’를 슬로건으로 내건 이번 행사는 함안 수박의 우수성을 알리고 산업 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
축제 첫날인 1일에는 개막식을 시작으로 ‘제3회 전국 수박 품평회’가 열려 당도, 식감, 외관 등을 기준으로 최고 품질의 수박을 가린다.
농림축산식품부 장관상 등이 수여되며, 외형을 기준으로 한 ‘왕수박’ 선발도 함께 진행된다. 현장에서는 수박 럭키 경매, 미니 노래방, 버스킹 공연 등 다양한 참여형 프로그램이 이어진다.
2일에는 수박 미니운동회와 가족 수박 조각대회 등 체험 행사가 펼쳐지고, 오후에는 가수 박서진 등이 출연하는 ‘세계수박축제 슈퍼콘서트’가 분위기를 달군다. 이어 ‘레트로 함안수박 고고장’ 프로그램으로 축제 열기를 이어간다.
마지막 날인 3일에는 수박 게임과 무대 프로그램이 진행되며, 가수 전유진 등이 참여하는 ‘함안수박 명품콘서트’를 끝으로 막을 내린다.
이와 함께 행사 기간 동안 수박 주제관과 농특산물 홍보관이 운영되고, 대형 수박화채 나눔, 체험형 이벤트, 고품질 수박 할인 판매 등 부대행사도 마련된다.
함안군 관계자는 “농업인의 정성과 기술로 생산한 최고 품질의 함안 수박을 선보이는 자리”라며 “가족과 함께 즐기며 특별한 추억을 만들 수 있는 축제가 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
