Chungju Agricultural Technology Center Conducts ‘Customized Intensive Consulting’ to Prevent Agricultural Work Safety Accidents
The Chungju Agricultural Technology Center has launched ‘on-site customized intensive consulting’ to prevent safety accidents occurring during agricultural work and to enhance safety management capabilities at agricultural sites.
This consulting initiative was implemented as part of the ‘Pilot Project for Establishing a Support System for Preventing Agricultural Work Safety Accidents.’
In particular, with the recent expansion of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act to include small-scale workplaces, the focus was placed on preventing actual accidents by increasing the legal responsiveness of agricultural sites and diagnosing and improving risk factors in advance.
The project targets 110 farms within the jurisdiction, and the consulting is being conducted systematically through a three-stage customized process: △1st stage risk factor diagnosis, △2nd stage application of improvement measures, and △3rd stage implementation inspection.
To date, the first-stage on-site inspections for 52 farms have been completed, and key activities include checking for fall risks on ladders and work platforms, as well as conducting safety training on agricultural machinery.
In addition, practical safety measures such as attaching anti-slip devices and providing guidance on wearing protective equipment are being carried out in parallel. In addition, the center is continuing intensive guidance on major risk factors that may occur seasonally, such as fire prevention through the inspection of aging electrical facilities and the management of heat-related illnesses during the summer.
An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, "We will establish a safe working environment that farmers can truly experience through field-oriented, customized consulting," adding, "We will continue to spare no support in preventing agricultural safety accidents and spreading a safety culture within the region."
