충북테크노파크와 충북경제자유구역청이 공동으로 설립한 충북향기연구소는 지난 2024년 개소한 이래 직지향, 정이품송향, 미선나무향, 초정탄산수향 등 충북을 대표하는 상징성을 담은 4종의 향을 개발한 바 있다. 아울러 천연물 유래 향원료 추출 및 성분 분석 장비를 구축해 지역 기업들의 시제품 제작과 분석 지원, 뷰티 엑스포 참가 지원 등 다각도의 산업 육성 정책을 펼쳐오고 있다.
이번에 마련된 도민 대상 아로마테라피 조향 교육은 오는 9월 15일과 10월 13일 두 차례에 걸쳐 무료로 진행된다. 교육에는 전문 강사가 참여해 10종의 에센셜 오일을 직접 시향하고 블렌딩해 자신만의 전용 향수를 만드는 실습형 프로그램으로 구성된다. 수강 신청은 안내문의 QR코드를 통해 선착순 10명 안팎으로 접수한다. 이와 별개로 연구소 내 첨단 추출·분석 장비 활용을 희망하는 지역 기업을 위한 전문 교육도 병행 운영된다.
