Chungbuk Technopark Holds Meeting with Beneficiary Companies to Foster Eco-friendly Food Tech Industry in Goesan-gun

Chungbuk Technopark held a meeting with companies for the 2026 Goesan-gun Local Industry Development Project and an AI Capability Enhancement Seminar at the Jungwon University seminar room, declaring the full-scale implementation of the Goesan-gun Eco-friendly Food Tech Industry Development Project. This project is being pursued by organically linking initiatives from five government ministries, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as well as Chungcheongbuk-do and Goesan-gun, to overcome local population decline and the crisis of regional extinction. As the lead organization, Chungbuk Technopark plans to partner with participating institutions—the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jungwon University, the Korea Testing & Research Institute of Chemical Technology, and the Chungcheongbuk-do Enterprise Promotion Agency—to discover new food tech industries utilizing Goesan-gun's abundant eco-friendly resources and secure competitiveness for the future food industry. Approximately 30 people attended the event, including 20 beneficiary companies related to Goesan's eco-friendly local food and food tech industries selected in the first round of applications, as well as new applicants who applied for the second round. Attendees engaged in in-depth communication, sharing diverse opinions on ways to utilize Goesan's specialized resources and business management directions for securing regional sustainability. In particular, special lectures on business planning utilizing core AI tools and smart work innovation, designed to assist local entrepreneurs with digital transformation, received a great response from the attendees.

An official from a food tech company attending the meeting commented, "We had been struggling to enter new industries due to a lack of funding and technical capabilities. However, it is a great source of strength to hear that various organizations are collaborating to provide customized support ranging from prototype production to market expansion. We plan to apply the AI skills learned during the meeting to our work and take on the challenge of developing high-value-added products."

Meanwhile, Chungbuk Technopark plans to recruit additional beneficiary companies through a third round of applications starting in late June. The open call is being conducted across a total of nine fields, including support for prototype production, performance evaluation, domestic and international certification, advanced utilization of global talent, and online sales channels. Applications can only be submitted online through the Korea Technology Information Promotion Agency (KTIPI)'s business support management system platform. However, for companies unfamiliar with online applications, an on-site reception desk will also be set up and operated within the Chungwon University Startup Incubation Center during the application period.

Park Soon-ki, President of Chungbuk Technopark, stated that this project was launched to intensively foster new food tech industries based on the unique specialized resources of Goesan-gun, the "Natural Special City." He further announced that the agency will provide close support to local companies, ranging from prototype production to global market expansion, to help them secure high-value-added technological competitiveness. He emphasized that the agency will actively contribute to overcoming the crisis of regional decline by establishing next-generation regional growth engines through the convergence of traditional agri-food industries with cutting-edge technologies such as AI.
