【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=제천시지역사회보장협의체가 관내 저소득 취약계층의 건강한 여름나기를 지원하기 위해 '해피투게더 시원한 여름나기' 사업을 추진하고 냉방기기 나눔을 진행했다. 협의체는 지난 3일 폭염에 노출된 취약 가구의 안전을 위해 선풍기 119대를 마련해 각 가정에 전달했다.
이번 사업은 가정 내에 냉방기기가 아예 없거나 장비가 낡아 본격적인 무더위와 폭염을 이겨내기 어려운 가구들이 안전하고 건강하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 돕기 위해 기획됐다.
특히 선풍기는 읍면동 지역사회보장협의체와 긴밀하게 협력해 발굴한 실질적인 에너지 취약계층에게 배분됐다. 위원들은 직접 선풍기를 전달하는 과정에서 혹서기 온열질환 예방을 위한 여름철 건강관리 수칙을 안내하고 가구원들의 안부를 확인하는 등 폭염 취약계층의 건강과 안전 상태를 면밀히 살폈다. 이와 함께 가정 내 전기 시설 등에 대한 안전 점검도 병행했다.

한편 제천시지역사회보장협의체는 이번 선풍기 지원 외에도 연합모금 매칭지원사업인 ‘해피투게더’를 포함해 홀몸노인과 장애인 가구를 돌보는 ‘올(All) 봄’ 사업 등 다각적인 지역복지 네트워크 사업을 펼치고 있다. 협의체는 이를 통해 지역 내 복지 사각지대를 선제적으로 발굴하고 해소하는 데 앞장서고 있다.
