Over the years, it has played a pivotal role in supporting provincial integration and regional development by leading initiatives such as the "Making Jeonnam Proud" campaign, promoting participation in provincial administration, organizing pan-provincial rallies, and forming alliances on major policies.
In particular, the launch of the 5th Federation is drawing significant attention ahead of the historic inauguration of the "Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City" on July 1st. Aligning with the Mayor-elect's policy direction of "a competent local government where citizens are the owners" and "establishing resident-participatory governance," the Federation plans to serve as a reliable stepping stone to ensure that the vivid voices of the residents are incorporated into the overall policies of the Integrated Special City, moving beyond a simple administration-centered integration. Kang Seong-jin, the newly appointed Chairman of the Jeonnam Social Organizations Federation, expressed his aspirations, stating, “In alignment with Governor-elect Min Hyeong-bae’s citizen-centered policy stance, I will mobilize all the capabilities of social organizations to ensure the successful settlement of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City.”
In response, Kang Gyeong-mun, Director of the Jeonnam Provincial Citizens’ Happiness Communication Office, replied, “We will always listen to the voices of the Social Organizations Federation and cooperate closely to realize true citizen sovereignty that citizens can experience and to establish a practical public-private collaborative governance system.”
