Jeonnam Food Export Association Holds ‘Member Company Export Training and Evaluation’… “Expanding K-Food Territory”
Over 60 Agricultural and Fishery Food Export Companies Attend in Naju on the 15th… Practical Training and H Mart Product Evaluation Held - Special Promotional Event at 65 H Mart Stores in the U.S. This September… Promotions to Permanently Stock Excellent Products in Over 100 Stores
(Naju·Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = Jeollanam-do announced on the 15th that the Jeonnam Food Export Association held the ‘2026 Jeonnam Food Export Association Member Company Export Training and Evaluation’ at the Jungheung Gold Spa Resort in Naju. The event was organized to expand overseas sales channels and strengthen practical export capabilities for local agricultural and fishery food export companies.
Approximately 100 people attended the event, including representatives from over 60 agricultural and fishery food export companies in the Jeonnam region and officials from export-related organizations. They engaged in in-depth discussions on strategies for entering global markets and plans to expand exports. In line with the rapidly growing stature of K-Food in the global market, the Association has organized a substantial, practical program designed to help Jeonnam food companies flexibly respond to stringent overseas customs procedures and secure export competitiveness.
Key training topics covered included export regulations and customs procedures by country, analysis of global food market trends, and strategies for developing and packaging products tailored to overseas consumers, receiving a positive response from participating companies.
Notably, a product evaluation and export consultation session for supplying products to H Mart, the largest Asian retail chain in the United States, were held simultaneously on-site. Attendees focused on discussing ways to expand the entry of Jeonnam agricultural and marine products into the North American market and to foster close cooperation with local distribution networks.
Previously, the Jeonnam Food Export Association achieved $500,000 in export sales through a simultaneous promotional event with H Mart last April. Not stopping there, the Association plans to once again extensively promote a "Special Promotional Event for Jeonnam Agricultural and Marine Products" at 65 H Mart stores across the United States this coming September. The association aims to achieve export sales of $600,000 at the promotional event to be held this coming September.
To ensure the event is not merely a one-off sale focused on volume, the plan is to select the top five outstanding products by comprehensively evaluating local consumer response and sales performance.
Full support will be provided to ensure the selected products are sold regularly (officially listed) in all 100 H Mart stores across the United States. This is expected to serve as a bridgehead for Jeonnam agricultural and marine products to stably establish themselves in the mainstream U.S. distribution market.
Han Moon-cheol, Representative of the Jeonnam Food Export Association, expressed his aspirations, stating, "Taking this cooperative project with H Mart as an opportunity, we will provide comprehensive support to help member companies secure stable overseas sales channels and further expand partnerships with global distribution companies." He added, "We will continue to hold regular export training and consultation sessions to further enhance the global export capabilities of Jeonnam food companies."
