South Jeolla Province Expands ‘Energy Territory’ in Indonesia… Achieves $6 Million in Exports
Dispatches Market Exploration Delegation Linked to ‘SolarTech Indonesia 2026’… Full-scale Targeting of Southeast Asian Energy Market
(Break News Gwangju·Jeonnam) Reporter Lee Hak-su = South Jeolla Province is accelerating its entry into the Southeast Asian renewable energy market, including signing a $6 million export Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in conjunction with the largest energy exhibition in Southeast Asia held in Jakarta, Indonesia.
South Jeolla Province announced that it dispatched the ‘2026 Energy Specialized Market Exploration Delegation’ to Jakarta, Indonesia, for a week until the 25th, in collaboration with the KOTRA Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters. This delegation maximized synergy effects by operating in conjunction with ‘SolarTech Indonesia 2026,’ the largest local exhibition for solar power and energy efficiency. Jeonnam Province implemented a practical, hands-on strategy, including conducting preliminary consultations with local buyers at least twice with six pre-selected promising local energy companies prior to the event. As a result, Shin I&S (heat-reflective paint), one of the participating companies, achieved a significant success by signing four export agreements with local buyers totaling approximately 8.9 billion won (6 million dollars). Shin I&S’s flagship product, heat-reflective paint, garnered high interest from the local market due to its excellent ability to lower building and pavement temperatures in Indonesia’s tropical climate.
In addition, five other companies participating in the market exploration delegation—The Joeun Energy, Ace Energy, Inverter Technology, SYNS, and DMT—also engaged in active consultations in the fields of solar structures, power generation devices, and electrical equipment, raising expectations for future additional contracts. Indonesia is considered a land of opportunity where electricity demand is skyrocketing alongside recent rapid economic growth, and a solar-centric energy transition is actively underway due to government-led policies to expand renewable energy.
An official from Jeollanam-do stated, "We will cooperate with KOTRA's overseas trade offices to provide thorough follow-up support at every stage, including buyer management and follow-up consultations, to ensure that this MOU leads to actual export contracts and increased sales."
