Jeonnam Office of Education Launches Regional Touring Training for ‘National Education Information System (NEIS)’

Target Audience Expanded to Include Staff at Directly Affiliated Institutions and High Schools… First Step Taken in Yeosu on the 18th, Relay Training to be Conducted Across 5 Regions Expected to Enhance Accuracy and Reliability in Payroll Administration Through Practical, Field-Oriented Training

(Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Jeollanam-do Office of Education has launched a large-scale touring training program to standardize payroll operations for educational support staff and strengthen the capabilities of field staff.

The Office of Education announced that it has officially begun the ‘2026 Regional Touring Training for Educational Support Staff Payroll System (NEIS) Users,’ targeting staff at directly affiliated institutions and high schools within its jurisdiction.

This training was organized as an extension of the training conducted last year for staff at Office of Education Support. This year, the scope of the training has been significantly expanded to include staff at directly affiliated institutions and high schools, focusing on ensuring uniformity in the use of the intelligent NEIS system and enhancing the accuracy of payroll administration.

The first training session for Zone 1 (Yeosu and Gwangyang), marking the beginning of the initiative, was successfully held on the 18th at the Yeosu Office of Education, with approximately 40 working-level staff members from affiliated institutions and high schools in the district in attendance.

Notably, to provide field-oriented support, officials from the Office of Education with extensive practical experience served as instructors. Moving beyond the mere delivery of theory, the session focused on practical system exercises that could be immediately applied in the field, receiving a highly positive response from the participants.

The main training content was substantially structured around core tasks most needed by working-level staff in the field, including ▲organization of basic personnel records ▲management of years of service ▲processing of service matters such as leave ▲management of holiday bonuses and the four major social insurances.

Starting with Zone 1, this regional relay training will be conducted over a total of five sessions. The schedule is set to proceed in the following order: Zone 2 (May 19, 4 cities and counties including Suncheon), Zone 3 (May 29, 5 cities and counties including Naju), Zone 4 (June 1, 8 counties including Yeongam), and Zone 5 (June 18, 3 cities and counties including Mokpo).

An official from the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education stated, "We expect that this relay training will maximize the proficiency of staff in system operation and minimize errors in payroll tasks, thereby further enhancing administrative credibility." The official added, "We plan to actively incorporate the candid feedback gathered from the field during the training into future improvements to the NICE system functions and the formulation of related policies."
