Jeonnam Development Corporation Selected for Ministry of Education’s ‘Community-Linked Career Experience’ Competition… Joins Hands with 5 Institutions

Selected as Representative Institution for Gwangju and Jeonnam After Overcoming Competition from 45 Teams Nationwide- Targeting Mokpo High School Students… Operating Practical Participation Programs in Regional Development and Public Architecture- President Jang Chung-mo: “We Will Provide Substantial Job Experience Opportunities for Local Youth”

(Muan = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = Having been finally selected for a project organized by the Ministry of Education, the Jeonnam Development Corporation is set to begin operating practical public institution job experience programs for local youth.

The Jeonnam Development Corporation announced on the 8th that it was selected as the representative institution for the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions in the ‘Project to Revitalize Career Experience through Community Linkage and Cooperation’ competition organized by the Ministry of Education. This achievement was secured amidst fierce competition among a total of 45 teams nationwide.

The project will be overseen by the Jeonnam Development Corporation and operated under the team name ‘Mokpo Future City Career Growth Cooperation Group.’ Centered around the Corporation, a total of five organizations—including the Mokpo Office of Education, Mokpo National University, the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation, and the Korea Gas Safety Corporation—have established a close cooperative network to participate.

The program targets high school students in the Mokpo region. Participating students will have the opportunity to explore specific career paths by directly experiencing public institutions and local community sites.

In particular, the program is well-structured around the Jeonnam Development Corporation's core businesses of regional development and public architecture. Key components include understanding job roles and basic practical training in architecture, electrical engineering, and civil engineering; field trips to housing development sites related to regional development; hands-on experience in construction site safety management; and mentoring by current employees of public institutions.

The project runs from this month (May) until November. To enable students to deeply understand the actual workflow and field operations of public institutions, the program is designed as a "participatory program" that combines practical training, on-site verification, and Q&A sessions, going beyond simple observation. The Corporation plans to closely analyze operational results and actively consider expanding the project to other cities and counties within the province, including the eastern region of Jeonnam. Jeonnam Development Corporation President Jang Chung-mo emphasized, “This project will be a great opportunity for local youth to directly experience the roles of public institutions and the construction sector,” adding, “We will operate it effectively by closely consulting and cooperating with the five participating organizations.”
