【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 음성군이 지역 학생들의 외국어 능력 향상과 글로벌 리더십 함양을 위해 추진한 ‘2026 여름방학 영어캠프’가 일정을 마무리했다.
이번 캠프는 관내 초등학생을 대상으로 한 1기(7월 27일~8월 1일)와 중학생 대상의 2기(8월 3일~8월 8일)로 나누어 진행됐다. 음성군이 주최하고 글로벌선진학교가 운영을 맡아 전문성을 더했다.
특히 참가자들이 원어민 강사진과 함께 생활하는 합숙 방식으로 운영되어, 24시간 자연스럽게 영어를 사용하는 몰입 환경이 조성됐다. 주입식 교육 방식을 탈피해 학생들이 영어에 대한 부담을 줄이고 자연스러운 의사소통 능력을 기르도록 돕는 데 중점을 두었다.
학생들은 캠프 기간 동안 글로벌선진학교 원어민 교사들과 주제별 프로젝트 수업, 문화 체험, 팀빌딩 레크리에이션 등 다채로운 실용 프로그램에 참여했다. 실생활 중심의 영어 표현을 습득함과 동시에 동료들과 협력하며 사회성을 키우는 계기가 됐다.
