The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KCG) announced on the 20th that it held an opening ceremony for its European Support Center in Frankfurt, Germany, on the 19th and launched a localized financial support system.

Approximately 70 people attended the event, including KCG Chairman Kang Seung-jun, KCG Labor Union Chairman Ko Kwang-wook, Consul General Kim Eun-jung of Frankfurt, Secretary General Kathrin Stem of the European Association of Mutual Guarantee Institutions, officials from local related organizations, and corporate representatives.

This opening is highly significant as it marks the re-establishment of a local base in Europe for the first time in 28 years, following the suspension of its Frankfurt office operations during the 1998 Asian financial crisis. Notably, KCG, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has expanded its global financial support network to Europe, following its ASEAN Support Center in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Moving forward, the European Support Center plans to provide customized financial services to support the settlement of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies in the European market, and will also work to build cooperative networks with local institutions and global guarantee agencies. Kang Seung-jun, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, said, “The opening of this European Support Center has laid the foundation to systematically support our companies’ entry into the European market, overcoming a 28-year hiatus,” adding, “We will continue to provide practical support so that domestic companies can grow into globally competitive enterprises beyond the domestic market.”
