[Break News Gyeonggi South = Seongnam Reporter Lee Hyun-jun] A Danish industrial delegation visited Seongnam City on the 8th to examine the innovation ecosystem of Pangyo Techno Valley and discuss ways to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.
This visit marked a practical forum for industrial exchange following a visit to Seongnam City last March by a delegation led by the Danish Ambassador to Korea, which confirmed potential for cooperation in the fields of smart cities and digital innovation.
This delegation was organized as part of the Global Innovation Network Program supported by the Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science, and consisted of approximately 20 representatives from companies, universities, and research institutions, led by the Danish Academy of Manufacturing. The delegation visited the Seongnam Global Convergence Center to understand the major projects of the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the current status of support for system semiconductor development, and toured the sites of local companies possessing advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Yeoui System Co., Ltd., selected as a site for the visit, demonstrated core technologies in the field of industrial automation, such as industrial computers and AI controllers, while Jaseng Medibio Center showcased automated production processes and research capabilities in traditional Korean medicine. Danish officials showed keen interest in Seongnam’s advanced manufacturing sites and industry-academia-research collaboration models, highly evaluating the potential for creating synergy between Denmark’s sustainable manufacturing experience and Seongnam’s digital manufacturing ecosystem.
Seongnam City plans to continuously expand exchanges with Denmark by leveraging its strengths as a hub for high-tech industries, including AI, ICT, bio-health, and system semiconductors, centered around Pangyo Techno Valley. The city intends to accelerate the establishment of concrete human and material networks in the future, including joint research and technological cooperation between companies.
