사천시, '뉴-KOEN 바다사랑 지킴이사업' 본격 추진

[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천시가 한국남동발전, 한국노인인력개발원 등과 함께 해양환경 보호와 노인일자리 창출을 위한 '뉴-KOEN 바다사랑 지킴이사업'을 본격 추진한다.

사천시는 28일 대한노인회 사천시지회에서 '2026년 뉴-KOEN 바다사랑 지킴이사업' 발대식을 열고 사업 추진과 참여자 안전을 다짐했다고 밝혔다.

발대식에는 박동식 시장을 비롯해 한국남동발전 삼천포발전본부, 한국노인인력개발원 경남지역본부, 대한노인회 사천시지회 관계자와 사업 참여 어르신 등 40여 명이 참석했다.

뉴-KOEN 바다사랑 지킴이사업은 한국남동발전의 사회공헌형 노인일자리 사업으로 2017년 사천에서 시작됐다. 이후 전국 4개 지역으로 확대됐으며, 10여 년간 총 21억 원이 투입돼 500여 명이 참여했다.

사업은 한국남동발전과 한국노인인력개발원이 운영비를 공동 지원하고, 사천시는 행정 지원을 맡는다. 대한노인회 사천시지회는 한국노인인력개발원과 함께 사업 운영과 참여자 관리를 담당한다.

올해는 만 60세 이상 어르신 30명이 6월부터 10월까지 지역 해안에서 해양쓰레기 수거와 환경정비 활동을 수행할 예정이다.
