【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=보은군 오장환문학상 운영위원회가 제17회 오장환문학상 수상자로 시집 ‘나는 용서도 없이 살았다’를 펴낸 이상국(사진) 시인을 선정했다.
올해로 17회째를 맞이한 오장환문학상은 최근 2년간 발간된 시집을 대상으로 심사를 진행했다. 운영위원회가 추천한 36명의 추천위원을 통해 총 57권의 시집이 심사대에 올랐으며, 문단과 학계를 대표하는 전문가들의 엄정한 심사를 거쳤다. 심사위원들은 수상작에 대해 삶의 비의를 깊이 있게 이야기하면서도 곳곳에 묻어나는 시인 특유의 해학이 매우 인상적인 작품이라고 평하며, 여전히 시적 긴장을 유지하면서도 한층 더 맑고 편안한 시 세계를 보여준 점을 높이 평가했다.
이번 수상의 영예를 안은 이상국 시인은 1976년 작품 활동을 시작한 이래 ‘동해별곡’, ‘내일로 가는 소’, ‘우리는 읍으로 간다’ 등 다수의 시집을 발간하며 한국 시단을 이끌어왔다. 그동안 백석문학상, 정지용문학상, 박재삼문학상 등을 수상하며 평단과 독자들의 두터운 신뢰를 받아온 원로 문인이다. 수상자에게는 상금 1,000만 원과 상패가 주어지며, 시상식은 오는 9월 12일 보은군 회인면 오장환문학관에서 열리는 제31회 오장환문학제 개막식에서 진행된다.

한편 보은군은 한국 시단의 3대 천재로 불리는 오장환 시인의 문학정신을 기리고 한국 문학의 저변 확대를 위해 매년 오장환문학상을 비롯해 신인문학상과 디카시신인문학상을 함께 운영하고 있다. 시상식이 열리는 문학제 기간에는 문학강연과 문학기행, 기념공연 등 대중이 함께 즐길 수 있는 다채로운 문화 프로그램이 펼쳐질 예정이다.
