[Gimhae News] Construction Resumes on Gimhae Naedong Gyeongun District Urban Development Project
Gimhae City announced on the 6th that construction for the Naedong Gyeongun District Urban Development Project, being implemented by Hanil Driving School Co., Ltd., has resumed this month.
The Naedong Gyeongun District Urban Development Project is a project to develop a residential complex accommodating 997 residents (397 households) on a 28,334㎡ site with a total investment of 52.4 billion won, aiming for completion in December 2028.
Construction was temporarily suspended due to the recent downturn in the construction industry, but it has now resumed after reorganizing project conditions—such as adjusting PF loans and re-selecting a contractor—to normalize the project.
As the expansion of the urban planning road, which is being pursued in conjunction with the project, proceeds in earnest, road closures will be implemented on some sections. By prioritizing the opening of a 531m section from Naedong Gyeongun District to Suin Park, expanded to a two-lane road including sidewalks, it is expected to significantly improve traffic flow on the Sanbok Road—where traffic conditions have long been poor—and contribute greatly to enhancing pedestrian safety.
◆ Gimhae Apple Mangoes Launch Full-Scale Shipments... Targeting the Premium Market with ‘Fully Ripened Harvests’
‘Apple mangoes,’ Gimhae City’s representative subtropical crop, have begun their first shipments of the year, setting out to capture the market in earnest.
The greatest competitive advantage of Gimhae-grown apple mangoes is their ‘fully ripened harvest.’
This achievement by farms in the Jinrye-myeon area is the result of smart, precision environmental management utilizing greenhouses and the farmers’ accumulated cultivation techniques. Unlike imported varieties, they are harvested after ripening fully on the tree, boasting overwhelming sweetness, soft flesh, and rich flavor.
Since the first introduction of apple mangoes in 2018, Gimhae City has expanded its cultivation area to 3.4 hectares, making it the second largest in Gyeongsangnam-do, following Haman-gun.
Most of the apple mangoes produced in Gimhae are shipped to the Garak-dong Agricultural Products Market in Seoul, where they have established themselves as premium gift fruits at major department stores nationwide.
