Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency Holds 'Visiting Traffic Police Workshop'... Discusses Citizen Safety Measures
Rolling visits to jurisdictional police stations for three days starting June 17... Reflecting voices from the field in policy - Key issues discussed include accident prevention for two-wheeled vehicles and cargo trucks, and measures to collect overdue fines
(Gwangju = Break News) Reporter Lee Hak-su = The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency has embarked on a series of on-site communication initiatives to realize traffic safety policies that prioritize the lives and safety of citizens.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency announced that it held the "Visiting Traffic Police Workshop," which involved directly visiting each police station within its jurisdiction for three days from the 17th to the 19th.
This workshop was organized for officials from the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency's traffic department to visit the front lines, share key traffic issues with working-level traffic police officers—such as heads of traffic departments and section chiefs—at each station, and gather firsthand feedback from the field. In particular, traffic accident prevention measures for "two-wheeled vehicles"—such as motorcycles and personal mobility devices (PMs)—and cargo trucks were discussed intensively, as their usage has recently surged, increasing the need for safety management.
In addition, measures to collect overdue fines were also addressed to establish a culture of traffic compliance and uphold fair legal order. The Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency plans to strengthen field-oriented traffic patrol activities to enhance the effectiveness of traffic administration and raise citizens' awareness of compliance with the law.
An official from the Gwangju Metropolitan Police Agency emphasized, "We will actively reflect the voices from the field gathered through this workshop into our public safety policies," adding, "We will do our utmost to protect the precious lives of citizens from traffic accidents by establishing and implementing customized traffic safety measures tailored to local conditions."
